Dr. med. Gabriele Böwing (MD)

Dr. med. Gabriele. Böwing (MD) is the medical director for Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the Center for Integrated Pain Management, combining Western and Chinese medicine.

Gabriele Böwing studied medicine from 1970 - 1976 at the University of Mainz.

From 1976 - 1987 she completed her internship as a medical doctor for internal medicine and rheumatology at the University of Marseille, Munich and Düsseldorf.

Besides internal and rheumatological disorders Gabriele Böwing has special expertise in treating pain conditions such as migraine, headache, neupathic disorders, post herpes zoster neuralgia.

As an internal doctor she also treats allergies and gastrointestinal problems with both Western and Chinese medicine. She is regarded as an expert in Chinese herbal medicine and diet therapy.

She is a co-founder and -director of the board of the German medical scientific society for Chinese medicine, "German Research Group for Acupuncture and CM e.V.", with more than 2000 medical doctors.

Besides numerous lectures, Gabriele Böwing has co-authored several clinical trials (RCTs) on headache, migraine, pain treatment, and acupuncture.

For the German Acupuncture Trials (GERAC), the world wide largest and most rigorous clinical trials on lower back pain, osteoarthritis, migraine and tension headache, she was the author for the acupuncture treatment design for tension type headache and migraine.
